Basketball Game Preview: Poinciana Eagles vs. Horizon Hawks + How To Watch

The Poinciana Eagles will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Horizon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Horizon took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Poinciana, who comes in off a win.

Poinciana is headed out to face Horizon after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Eagles claimed a resounding 68-19 victory over Ridgeview Global Studies Academy.

Kobi Brown II had a dynamite game, putting up 16 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Jahmai Johnson was another key player, going 5-for-6 to rack up 13 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-58 heartbreaker at the hands of Celebration.

Poinciana took their win against Horizon when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 54-34 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
