Basketball Recap: Goodland Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Holcomb

On Friday, Goodland faced Holcomb in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Goodland Cowboys took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holcomb Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-55 back in January.

Goodland's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Holcomb, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Goodland nor Holcomb have any future games scheduled.
