Basketball Recap: Navasota Comes Up Short

Navasota and Almeta Crawford squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Navasota had to settle for second. They fell to the Almeta Crawford Chargers 49-45.

Almeta Crawford was led to victory by Haleigh Bonwell and Betsy Martinez. Bonwell almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Martinez went 6-for-7 on her way to 12 points. Martinez continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Navasota's loss dropped their record down to 23-12. As for Almeta Crawford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 17-16 record this season.

Navasota does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Almeta Crawford, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-57 defeat against China Spring on the 13th.
