Football Recap: Phil Campbell Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Phil Campbell can now relate to. They were dealt a 59-19 defeat at the hands of the Piedmont Bulldogs on Friday. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-6.

Piedmont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Mixson led the charge by rushing for 79 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Mixson a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Cole Austin, who threw for 162 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Phil Campbell's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Piedmont, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Phil Campbell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Piedmont, they will take on Fyffe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
