Recap: Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors vs. University Christian Barracudas
The Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to University Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-27 win at home. The result was nothing new for Lake Lure Classical Academy, who have now won five games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Da'Zirus Watkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lake Lure Classical Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Andre Staley, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals.
Despite the loss, University Christian still got an impressive performance from Reece Morin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. Max Haan was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Lake Lure Classical Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for University Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Lure Classical Academy will square off against Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Community Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 337th, while Lake Lure Classical Academy is ranked 65th). University Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Queen's Grant at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Queen's Grant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
