Basketball Recap: Josie Lemmons Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat South Central

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Morgan Township ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 57-45 victory over the South Central Satellites. This was payback for the Cherokees, who suffered a 53-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Morgan Township's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josie Lemmons, who went 7 of 10 en route to 19 points and three steals. Lemmons has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abby Wasz, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why South Central lost, don't look at Samantha Marks. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 13 on her way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Johnson, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Morgan Township has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for South Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
