Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Parker-Tarrant Homeschool's 12th in Last 15 Outings

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool won the last time they faced Stephenville FAITH and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Knights. Considering the Warriors have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Dougharty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Gabe Nicholson and Colton Shockey did most of the damage at the plate: Nicholson scored two runs and stole a base, while Shockey went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Shockey has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Elijah House, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matchups.

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Stephenville FAITH, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
