Volleyball Recap: Newton South Comes Up Short

Newton South was the 3-2 winner over Boston Latin Academy when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newton South took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-27, 22-25, 25-19, 15-6.

Boston Latin Academy was led to victory by Tri Duong and Jarvis Huynh. Duong had 21 digs and four aces, while Huynh had four digs and three aces. That's the most digs Duong has posted since back in April.

Newton South's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Boston Latin Academy, their record now sits at 10-8.

Newton South has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Brookline on the 17th. As for Boston Latin Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Boston Latin on the 19th.
