The Central Red Devils will challenge the Calvary Christian Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.

Central is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Benjamin Russell just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Wildcats. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Red Devils came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Wildcats are ranked 85th).

Central's goal came courtesy of Earl Armstrong, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian entered their tilt with Brookstone on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 3-0 shutout. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by three goals or more this season.

Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
