Baseball Game Preview: Mount Vernon Knights vs. Edgemont Panthers

The Mount Vernon Knights will head out to challenge the Edgemont Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Mount Vernon and seven for Edgemont.

Mount Vernon lost 9-1 to Blind Brook on Monday.

Rye Neck hit Edgemont with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Edgemont came up short against Rye Neck, falling 9-1.

Edgemont saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Terrasi, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Mount Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Edgemont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Mount Vernon suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Edgemont when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
