They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Phoenix Firebirds. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked the Trojans' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Homer's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Phoenix, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Firebirds beat Homer by a score of 8-0 on Wednesday.
