Football Recap: Southside Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Liberty Red Devils 61-12. The Tigers lost against the Red Devils in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 34-14 score last time.

Liberty was led to victory by Kendall Jackson and Zane Smith. Jackson gained 109 total yards and three touchdowns, while Smith rushed for 95 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Liberty, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside will venture away from home to square off against Dixie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty, they will head out to challenge Pickens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
