Basketball Preview: Grace Christian Wildcats vs. Liberty Christian Academy Knights
Grace Christian is 1-9 against the Knights since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Grace Christian Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Liberty Christian Academy Knights at 4:00 p.m. Grace Christian is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-40, which was the final score in Grace Christian's tilt against the Defenders on Friday. While losing is never fun, Grace Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 589th in South Carolina, while the Defenders are ranked 292nd in North Carolina).
Liberty Christian Academy has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They snuck past Columbus Christian Academy with a 37-32 win on Friday.
Grace Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.
Grace Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over the Knights in their previous meeting back in January, winning 48-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grace Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
