Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against George School

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvary Christian Academy). They were the clear victors by a 25-14 margin over George School on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for Calvary Christian Academy, who have now won four games in a row.

Caleb Leader made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Calvary Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 3-4 otherwise. Leader was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Adam Lohwasser was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gary Wilcox, who earned two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Calvary Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 11.4.

Calvary Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for George School, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
