Softball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three contests, Winthrop finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against the Lisbon Greyhounds, falling 16-0. The Ramblers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Greyhounds earlier this season, when they won 16-0.

The defeat snapped Winthrop's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-9 record. As for Lisbon, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4-1 record.

Winthrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lisbon, they will face off against Mount Abram at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Roadrunners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.67 runs per game on average), something the Greyhounds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
