Baseball Recap: San Manuel Beats Ray for Their Fifth Straight Victory

San Manuel had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past the Ray Bearcats 7-1. Considering the Miners have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Eddie Guerrero made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Guerrero wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Decker, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. San Manuel is 10-2 when Decker posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another was Dominic Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

San Manuel pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Ray, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-13-1 record.

San Manuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ray has already played their next contest (against Duncan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
