Recap: Derry Trojans vs. Ligonier Valley Rams
The Derry Trojans lost to the Ligonier Valley Rams back in October of 2022, but The Derry Trojans didn't allow the Ligonier Valley Rams the same satisfaction on Friday. Derry put the hurt on Ligonier Valley with a sharp 35-15 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Derry.
Derry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ahmad Ward, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Nathan Barkley was another key contributor, rushing for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Despite the loss, Ligonier Valley still got an impressive performance from John Jablunovsky, who rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Jablunovsky really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
Derry's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Ligonier Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Derry will head out on the road to face off against McGuffey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ligonier Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
