Baseball Recap: Williston Comes Up Short

Williston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to the Vanguard Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 back in February.

Williston saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elliot Davis, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Williston's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Vanguard, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williston will host Chiefland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Vanguard, they will square off against Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Vanguard's pitchers better be ready for this one: Forest has averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
