Soccer Game Preview: Dixon vs. Rio Linda

The Dixon Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Rio Linda Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Dixon took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Destiny Christian Academy onto the board and left with an 8-0 win. Cristopher Cabrera was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rio Linda). They blew past Sutter 6-0 on Monday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Knights' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Dixon's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three games. As for Rio Linda, their win bumped their record up to 5-6-3.
