Baseball Recap: Dallas Academy Takes a Loss

Dallas Academy scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 12-4 to the Heritage Christian Academy Lions. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

William Russell put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 18 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.3 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Russell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josh Maki, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another was Sam White, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Dallas Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Dallas Academy and Heritage Christian Academy will both be playing St. Paul's Prep the next time they take the field. Heritage Christian Academy will head out to face St. Paul's Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Dallas Academy will head out to face them on Tuesday.
