Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Takes a Loss

Pioneer saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Christian Brothers Falcons. The match marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Alyssa Robinson paced Pioneer's offense, picking up seven kills. Robinson got some help from Marisa Bryson and her 14 assists. Finally, Robinson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Leading Christian Brothers to victory were Naomi Lemos and Paolo Trujillo. Lemos had ten assists and eight digs, while Trujillo had four digs and two aces.

Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Christian Brothers, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Pioneer has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Pleasant Grove on the 23rd. Hopefully Christian Brothers paid attention to the Patriots' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
