Soccer Game Preview: Orangeburg-Wilkinson vs. Oceanside Collegiate Academy

The Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins will venture away from home to face off against the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orangeburg-Wilkinson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson fell victim to Battery Creek and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the Dolphins.

Meanwhile, Oceanside Collegiate Academy kept a clean sheet against Battery Creek two weeks ago. They put the hurt on the Dolphins with a sharp 11-0 win. It was an even better day for Hailey Piesner as she scored four goals for her team.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 11-2-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those five contests. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Oceanside Collegiate Academy in their previous matchup on April 1st. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
