Softball Recap: Westbrook Blue Blazes vs. Scarborough Red Storm

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Westbrook and Scarborough meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Blue Blazes walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Red Storm. For the Blue Blazes, this counts as revenge for the 12-5 win the Red Storm walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Elyse Broad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Greta Krantz, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Emma Boulette was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Westbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
