Baseball Recap: San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy Comes Up Short

San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy extended their losing streak to 13 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-15 in the process. They came up short against the Clyde Bulldogs, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 last Thursday.

As for Clyde, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

For Clyde's part, Aidan Spurlock was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Spurlock has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Caden Winters was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clyde, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Godley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
