Softball Recap: South Greene Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

South Greene never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Hampton Bulldogs 11-0. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Kortnei Bailey made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Bailey was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, South Greene got a massive performance out of Madison Hensley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Hensley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Paisley Brobeck, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

South Greene always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hampton only posted an OBP of .222.

South Greene pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for Hampton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Greene will host Happy Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Hampton, they will be playing at home against Chuckey-Doak at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
