Baseball Recap: Peninsula Comes Up Short

Peninsula came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the El Segundo Eagles, falling 7-1. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss on Wednesday.

Peninsula's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-16. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.25 runs. As for El Segundo, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-6-1.

Peninsula has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 win against Palos Verdes on the 6th. As for El Segundo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-2 defeat against Gahr on the 3rd.
