Basketball Recap: York Catholic Takes a Loss

After flying high against Columbia last Saturday, York Catholic came back down to earth. The York Catholic Fighting Irish took a 77-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Lion Lions on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Lions are ranked 125th).

York Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Red Lion, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

Coming up, York Catholic will square off against York Suburban at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in York Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. As for Red Lion, they have already played their next game, a 62-55 loss against William Penn on the 10th.
