Volleyball Recap: Maine West Comes Up Short

Maine West lost against Vernon Hills back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Maine West sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-19, 22-25, 25-12.

Maine West has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for Vernon Hills, they pushed their record up to 16-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Maine West will challenge rival Maine East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Vernon Hills is set to square off against their familiar foe Niles West at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
