Softball Recap: Bexley's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bexley waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Whitehall-Yearling Rams with a sharp 17-6 win. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Zoe Lemon made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lemon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Alison Lefkowitz was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maddy Thomas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Bexley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-7. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bexley will welcome Worthington Christian at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Whitehall-Yearling, they will be playing at home against Harvest Prep at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
