Preview: Stewart County Royal Knights vs. Early County Bobcats
Stewart County is 0-3 against Early County since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Stewart County Royal Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Early County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-31, which was the final score in Stewart County's tilt against Randolph-Clay on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stewart County in their matchups with Randolph-Clay: they've now lost seven in a row.
Early County meant business on Tuesday, getting buckets from all over the court against a Panthers squad that has allowed just 29.75 points per contest. Early County really took it to Pataula Charter Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-15 victory on the road. With Early County ahead 28-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Jacorra Russell, who scored 14 points along with 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Nakevia Brown, who scored 13 points.
Stewart County's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Early County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Stewart County took a serious blow against Early County when the teams last played back in January, falling 48-17. Can Stewart County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
