Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory lost against Junipero Serra back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish lost to the Junipero Serra Padres on the road by a 72-56 margin. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Padres are ranked 80th).

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Junipero Serra, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will host Archbishop Riordan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Riordan will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory surely won't give up without a fight. As for Junipero Serra, they will welcome St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
