Baseball Recap: Montabella Comes Up Short

Montabella was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They fell 6-2 to the Fulton Pirates. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly four runs.

Montabella saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Bogart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Bryton Strohl also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Montabella's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Fulton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Montabella will square off against rival St. Charles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fulton is set to face off against their familiar foe Vestaburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
