Softball Recap: Mariner Tritons vs. Immokalee Indians
Mariner let Immokalee stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Tuesday but luckily Mariner prevailed anyway. The Tritons walked away with an 8-5 win over the Indians. This was payback for the Tritons, who suffered a 14-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Gabi Winters was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mia Standard was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Skylar Kulwicki also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Mariner hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Immokalee struck out 16 times.
Mariner has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Immokalee, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-15.
