Football Recap: Jamestown Eagles vs. New Kent Trojans
Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Kent Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 21-13 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Ben Hanchett threw for 103 yards on nine of 16 attempts.
Bowen Mayo was his top target, making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Jamestown's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for New Kent, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jamestown will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th. As for New Kent, they will face off against York at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
