Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Valor Christian Eagles

The Franklin Wildcats will face off against the Valor Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Franklin barely beat Tracy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Franklin's way against Tracy on Tuesday as Franklin made off with a 12-2 win. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024.

Meanwhile, Valor Christian posted their closest victory since April 24, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Legacy 9-7. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Lightning recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brigham Brown looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Valor Christian got a massive performance out of Max Matteucci, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Matteucci a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Kenz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Franklin pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for Valor Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
