Basketball Recap: Portage Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Donovan Navone and Brody Kayartz

Portage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. The game between the Portage Warriors and the Lodi Blue Devils didn't end well, with the Portage Warriors falling 66-50. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Portage's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brody Kayartz, who posted nine points, and Donovan Navone, who put up 11 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Navone a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Michael Nachreiner, who earned seven points.

Portage's defeat dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Lodi, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-9 record.

As of now, neither Portage nor Lodi have any future games scheduled.
