Softball Recap: Birmingham Takes a Loss

Birmingham was the 7-0 winner over Heritage Christian when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Birmingham Patriots took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Christian Warriors on Saturday.

Tori Torrez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Jasmine Martinez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Birmingham now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Heritage Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, Birmingham and Heritage Christian will both be playing West Ranch the next time they take the field. Heritage Christian will head out to face West Ranch at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Birmingham will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
