Basketball Recap: Idea Ewing Halsell Picks Up 15th Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Idea Ewing Halsell had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the KIPP Somos Collegiate Tigers by a score of 29-18. The 29-point effort marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

KIPP Somos Collegiate's loss came despite strong showings from TyKirah Steele and Elizabeth Pena. Steele posted eight points, while Pena put up seven points.

The win was the 15th in a row for Idea Ewing Halsell, bringing their record for this year to 22-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for KIPP Somos Collegiate, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-12.

Idea Ewing Halsell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-25 victory against KIPP University Prep on the 3rd.
