Softball Recap: Westwood Starts off Right with Win over Cliffside Park

Westwood took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They blew past the Cliffside Park Raiders 9-2. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won eight in a row.

Mackenzie Alesso was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Pontillo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood will take on Dumont at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cliffside Park, they will venture away from home to take on Tenafly at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
