Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cibola). They claimed a resounding 91-52 victory over the Piedra Vista Panthers. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Panthers are ranked 83rd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cibola is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Piedra Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cibola will host Manzano at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Piedra Vista, they will welcome Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cleveland will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Piedra Vista surely won't give up without a fight.
