Softball Preview: St. Elizabeth Hornets vs. New Bloomfield Wildcats

The St. Elizabeth Hornets will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the New Bloomfield Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

St. Elizabeth is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell 8-3 to Fatima on Tuesday. The Hornets have struggled against the Comets recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, New Bloomfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Battle on Thursday, taking the game 7-3. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly four runs.

Myah Briggs was incredible, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Avarie Edwards, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
