Basketball Recap: St. Andrew's Episcopal Comes Up Short

St. Andrew's Episcopal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Bullis Bulldogs 71-22. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why St. Andrew's Episcopal lost, don't look at Anna Beth Tsai-Turton. Despite the final result, she posted ten points and seven rebounds. That was a full 45.5% of St. Andrew's Episcopal's points, marking the third time in a row Tsai-Turton has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Bullis found their leader in sophomore Ivanna Manyacka, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Manyacka also set a new season-high mark in steals with eight. Sanai Troutman was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

St. Andrew's Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Bullis, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Coincidentally, St. Andrew's Episcopal and Bullis will both be playing Connelly School of the Holy Child the next time they take the court. Bullis will head out to face Connelly School of the Holy Child at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while St. Andrew's Episcopal will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
