Softball Game Preview: Arlington Eagles vs. Everett Seagulls

Arlington hasn't had much luck against Everett recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Seagulls at 6:00 p.m. Neither Arlington nor Everett posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Arlington is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glacier Peak.

Peyton Aanstad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Arlington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Zodrow, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Everett's offense. They fell 3-0 to Stanwood on Monday. The Seagulls have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Everett's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Arlington came out on top in a nail-biter against Everett in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
