Softball Recap: Coalfield's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Coalfield never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Oneida Indians as the Coalfield Yellow Jackets made off with a 10-0 win. The Yellow Jackets' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Olivia Laymance made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Laymance was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Baylee Chadwick and Caroline Foster did most of the damage at the plate: Chadwick went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles, while Foster scored two runs while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave Chadwick a new career-high in RBI. Brystol Caddell was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Coalfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oneida only managed three hits.

Coalfield's record is now 3-0. As for Oneida, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coalfield will host Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oneida, they will welcome Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
