A big showdown in Maryland resulted in Calvert Hall dropping from No. 2 to No. 7 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Boys Lacrosse Rankings presented by the Army National Guard, following a 6-5 loss to Boys Latin.

Boys Latin's win benefited another Maryland team, as McDonogh moved up to No. 2 to replace Calvert Hall. Victor (N.Y.) remains at No. 1.

1. (1 last week) Victor (N.Y.), 6-0
The Blue Devils up their win streak to 28 in a row with a 14-3 win over Webster Schroeder and a 17-4 win over McQuaid Jesuit.



2. (3) McDonogh (Owings Mills, Md.), 11-1
The Eagles topped Loyola-Blakefield 13-11 and Mt. St. Joseph 15-10.

3. (4) Monte Vista (Danville, Calif.), 17-0
The Mustangs won three times, beating Bellarmine Prep 11-4, Livermore 19-3 and Jesuit (Sacramento) 22-4.

4. (5) Bullis (Potomac, Md.), 14-2
The Bulldogs topped Potomac School 16-8 and defeated Georgetown Prep 14-4.

5. (6) Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.), 11-2
The Purple Eagles defeated DeMatha 11-7 and Fordham Prep 15-5.

6. (7) Boys Latin (Baltimore), 9-2
The Lakers picked up two big wins, defeating Calvert Hall 6-5 and Severn 8-7.

7. (2) Calvert Hall (Baltimore), 11-2
The Cardinals fell to Boys Latin 6-5 but they defeated Gilman 13-6.



8. (8) IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.), 12-1
The Ascenders were idle last week.

9. (9) New Canaan (Conn.), 8-0
The Rams knocked off Norwalk 10-6, Greenwich 8-6 and St. Joseph-Trumbull 11-4.

10. (10) Darien (Conn.), 7-0
The Blue Wave defeated Fairfield-Warde 21-4 and Wilton 17-3 to stay unbeaten.

11. (11) Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.), 7-0
The Seahawks played only once last week, beating Oyster Bay 17-1.

12. (15) Bridgewater-Raynham (Bridgewater, Mass.), 6-0
The Panthers' win streak hit 31 in a row after beating Hunterdon Central 11-9 and West Essex Regional 13-3.

13. (16) Landon (Bethesda, Md.), 13-3
The Bears got back on track with an 8-5 win over St. Albans and an 11-6 win over Lawrenceville.



14. (17) Culver Academies (Ind.), 11-3
Culver stopped McCallie 15-5 and Christian Brothers 19-5 in Tennessee.

15. (NR) Summit (N.J.), 9-0
Summit is undefeated with a win over Delbarton.

16. (NR) Delbarton (Morristown, N.J.), 8-1
The Green Wave have wins over St. Anthony's and Malvern Prep with a loss to Summit.

17. (14) St. Anthony's (Melville, N.Y.), 8-1
The Friars beat Kellenberg Memorial 12-5 and St. John Baptist 16-4, but lost to Delbarton 7-5.

18. (12) Deerfield Academy (Mass.), 6-1
The Big Green lost to Trinity-Pawling 12-11 in overtime, but they beat Taft School 14-7.

19. (NR) Brunswick School (Greenwich, Conn.), 8-2
Brunswick School defeated Haverford School 12-6. Its only losses are to New Canaan and Deerfield Academy.



20. (19) Haverford School (Pa.), 10-4
The Fords topped Germantown Academy 15-5 and Penn Charter 12-5, but lost to Brunswick School 12-6.

21. (20) Malvern Prep (Pa.), 10-3
The Friars won three times last week, beating Springside Chestnut Hill 16-6, Penn Charter 18-8 and Hun School 15-6.

22. (22) Syosset (N.Y.), 8-1
The Braves went into overtime to beat Shoreham-Wading River 12-11. They also beat East Meadows 19-2.

23. (24) Locust Valley (N.Y.), 11-0
The Falcons blanked Clarke 16-0 and edged Oyster Bay 18-6.

24. (25) Massapequa (N.Y.), 8-1
The Chiefs topped Billerica 14-11 and Oceanside 20-8.

25. (NR) Ward Melville (East Setauket, N.Y.), 8-1
The Patriots moved back into the rankings after a 13-12 win over Smithtown East.



Dropped out: No. 13 Smithtown East (N.Y.), No. 18 Hun School (Princeton, N.J.), No. 21 Loyola Blakefield (Towson, Md.), No. 23 Severn (Severna Park, Md.).
