Basketball Recap: Javion Barkley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Banneker

After losing to Banneker the last time they met, Lovejoy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Lovejoy Wildcats came out on top against the Banneker Trojans by a score of 51-41 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Lovejoy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javion Barkley, who went 8-for-16 en route to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Barkley a new career-high. Noah Banks was another key player, going 6-for-15 on his way to 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Lovejoy pushed their record up to 11-15 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Banneker, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Lovejoy has already played their next contest, a 63-33 defeat against Langston Hughes on the 12th. Banneker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
