Volleyball Recap: Mia Zayas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Britain over Platt + How To Watch

New Britain had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-8 to make it ten. They lost 3-0 to the Platt Panthers. The Golden Hurricanes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Several Golden Hurricanes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Zayas, who had 14 digs. Zayas is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

As for Platt, they moved to 3-10 with that win, which also ended their six-match losing streak. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Platt was led to victory by Kori Hudson and Kylee Campbell. Hudson had 12 digs and two assists, while Campbell had eight digs and one assist. That's the most digs Campbell has posted over her last five matches.

New Britain has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Middletown on the 7th. As for Platt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Rocky Hill on the 7th.
