Basketball Recap: Boca Raton Christian Comes Up Short

Boca Raton Christian lost against Trinity Christian Academy back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Boca Raton Christian Blazers took a 69-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors. While the Blazers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 20-14 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Boca Raton Christian lost, don't look at Joshua Good. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Good's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Jeemias, who posted 15 points.

Even though they lost, Boca Raton Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Trinity Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Kuzmin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 19 boards. Kuzmin is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Paul Morency, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Boca Raton Christian's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their record now sits at 3-6.

Boca Raton Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 93-88 victory against Jupiter Christian on the 20th. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oxbridge Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Trinity Christian Academy is facing Oxbridge Academy at the right time seeing as Oxbridge Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
