Softball Recap: Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Central Catholic blew Sandy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Sandy got their revenge. The Rams fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 9-7. The Rams' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Olivia Pompetti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Portland Razo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sandy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Central Catholic will square off against Nelson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Catholic's pitchers better be ready for this one: Nelson has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Sandy, they will venture away from home to take on Clackamas at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
