Preview: Newton Eagles vs. Huntington Red Devils
The Newton Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Huntington Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Newton took a serious blow against Pollok Central, falling 56-26. Newton has not had much luck with Pollok Central recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, Huntington pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodville.
Newton's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Huntington, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-23 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Newton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-29 loss to Huntington when the teams last played back in January. Can Newton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
